Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has released an extensive commemorative message marking the second anniversary of the tragic helicopter crash on May 19, 2024, which claimed the lives of former President Ebrahim Raisi, then-Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and their accompanying delegation. Commencing his written address by paying tribute to the late officials, Khamenei stated that these individuals “decorated the diligent service record of Islamic Republic officials with their own blood.” Emplacing a strong emphasis on Raisi’s unwavering sense of duty, dedication to justice, active diplomatic strategies, and direct engagement with the public, the Supreme Leader noted that these robust traits instilled deep courage across Iran’s regional allies, most notably within the broader “Resistance Front.”
Shifting focus to Tehran’s current international alignment, Mojtaba Khamenei pointedly criticized Washington and Tel Aviv without naming them directly. “We are currently witnessing a unique, historic epic of resistance displayed by the Iranian nation against two global terrorist armies,” the Supreme Leader declared.
