President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan declared that the strong partnership with Kazakhstan, built on mutual trust, has propelled bilateral trade volume to nearly 10 billion dollars as of the end of last year.

Speaking at the Türkiye-Kazakhstan Business Forum, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed his gratitude to Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for his hospitality. Erdoğan commended the reform programs led by Tokayev, describing them as the driving force behind Kazakhstan’s rapid development. He extended his congratulations to the people of Kazakhstan on the 35th anniversary of their independence and the recent constitutional changes. Highlighting the diplomatic progress made during morning sessions, Erdoğan noted that 13 different documents were signed to strengthen bilateral cooperation. He emphasized that Türkiye remains the most steadfast supporter of Kazakhstan’s sovereign progress.

KAZAKHSTAN BECOMES TURKIC WORLD’S TOP TRADING PARTNER

Expressing great satisfaction with the advancing economic ties, Erdoğan pointed out that Kazakhstan’s GDP grew by 6.5% in 2025, with per capita income approaching 15,000 dollars. He described Kazakhstan as the largest economy in Central Asia, boasting a total foreign trade volume of 145 billion dollars. Consequently, Kazakhstan became Türkiye’s largest trading partner within the Turkic world in 2025. Erdoğan highlighted that nearly 5,500 Turkish companies have invested 6 billion dollars in sectors ranging from construction to finance, while Turkish contractors have undertaken over 500 projects valued at 30 billion dollars across the country.

VISION FOR THE MIDDLE CORRIDOR AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

President Erdoğan also detailed plans to increase oil transit through Türkiye and revitalize the Trans-Caspian Middle Corridor by integrating railway connections and digital customs systems.

He announced that the upcoming informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Turkistan would focus on “Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development.” Trade Minister Ömer Bolat echoed these sentiments on social media, reaffirming the commitment to reaching the 15 billion dollar trade target. Following his official engagements in Astana, President Erdoğan departed for Turkistan to participate in the regional summit, emphasizing that human investment remains the most permanent legacy of the two brotherly nations.
