An explosion at a fireworks factory in Hunan province has killed 21 people and injured 61 others, authorities confirmed.

The blast occurred on Tuesday evening in Liuyang county, located in the city of Changsha. According to the local Emergency Management Bureau, all of those who died were workers at the facility.

RESCUE EFFORTS UNDERWAY

Officials stated that 61 individuals were injured in the explosion, with emergency teams continuing search and rescue operations at the site. The scale of the incident has raised concerns about industrial safety standards in the region.

Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the cause of the explosion.
