Tehran issues strong warning after US signals support for stranded ships, calling any intervention a ceasefire violation.
Iran’s military warned that the United States Navy would be targeted if it approaches the Strait of Hormuz.
The statement followed Washington’s announcement that it would assist vessels stranded in the strait. Iranian officials stressed that any perceived threat within the country’s territory or surrounding waters would be met with a firm response.
ANY INTERVENTION SEEN AS ESCALATION
Chairman of Iran’s Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Ebrahim Azizi, said any US involvement in maritime arrangements in the strait would constitute a violation of the ceasefire.
In remarks shared on social media, Azizi stated that claims or narratives attempting to assign blame would not be credible, adding that developments in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf cannot be shaped by what he described as misleading statements.
TENSIONS REMAIN HIGH IN STRATEGIC WATERWAY
The exchange reflects rising tensions in one of the world’s most critical maritime corridors, as both sides continue to issue warnings amid ongoing regional developments.
