Vice President to represent Türkiye at European Political Community summit, marking a rare high-level visit to Armenia after nearly two decades.
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz will travel to Yerevan to attend the 8th summit of the European Political Community.
Yılmaz is set to participate in the gathering on May 4 under the theme “Building the Future: Unity and Stability in Europe,” representing President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The visit marks the first engagement at this level from Türkiye to Armenia in 18 years.
BILATERAL MEETINGS ON THE AGENDA
During the summit, Yılmaz is expected to join a roundtable discussion and hold bilateral meetings with key leaders, including Romanian President Nicuşor Dan, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
FOCUS ON COOPERATION AND REGIONAL ISSUES
The summit will address steps to enhance democratic resilience, improve connectivity, and strengthen economic and energy security through closer cooperation and coordination. Regional developments and global challenges are also expected to be discussed.
Leaders from 43 countries have been invited to the summit, with the next meeting planned to take place in Ireland in November.
