A bamboo-laden truck overturned in Myanmar’s capital, leaving 16 dead and 21 injured in a crash linked to speeding.
A truck carrying bamboo overturned in the capital Naypyidaw, resulting in the deaths of 16 people and injuries to 21 others.
According to a statement from the Myanmar Fire Services Department, the accident occurred at around 13:50 local time in the Ottara Thiri township. The vehicle, which was transporting a total of 38 individuals, lost control and overturned after the driver was reportedly traveling at excessive speed.
RESCUE TEAMS RESPOND TO SCENE
Authorities confirmed that 16 passengers died at the scene, while 21 others sustained injuries. Emergency responders, including fire service personnel and local rescue teams, were dispatched promptly to the area.
The victims and injured individuals were transported to Naypyidaw General Hospital for further medical treatment and procedures.
