Floods in Kenya Kill 10 Amid Heavy Rains

Severe rainfall affecting multiple regions of Kenya has led to flooding that claimed the lives of 10 people, authorities confirmed.

Officials reported that intense downpours caused both floods and landslides, disrupting daily life and damaging key infrastructure. Among the affected sites were Mwena Bridge in Kwale and Ngomeni Bridge in Kitui, both of which sustained structural damage.

CASUALTIES AND DAMAGE REPORTED

According to Kenyan police, 10 people lost their lives in the disaster, including seven fatalities recorded in eastern parts of the country. The situation remains critical as weather conditions continue to deteriorate.

RESCUE OPERATIONS CONTINUE

The national meteorological agency warned that heavy rainfall is expected to persist, raising concerns over further flooding and landslides. Search and rescue teams have been deployed across impacted areas and continue to operate in challenging conditions.

Authorities urged residents in vulnerable regions to remain alert as emergency efforts remain underway.
